Tenuta Le forconate
In 2008, the Barbanera family acquired the first vineyards of the estate in the municipality of Cetona (Siena), near Monte Cetona, with the aim of developing their own winemaking project — the fruit of a passion for wine production nurtured over four generations. In 2017, they purchased the entire property, destined to become a unique reality where history and modernity converge, in a territory marked by the ancient border between the Papal States and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, and by the present-day boundary between Tuscany and Umbria. A place still little known today, yet of great beauty and remarkable potential for both viticulture and wine tourism — a place to be enhanced and shared with the world. The original vineyard area of 7.5 hectares has grown under the Barbanera family to 26.5 hectares, spread between San Casciano dei Bagni and Cetona, encompassing the original Sangiovese and Merlot varieties and progressively introducing new grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Sagrantino and Vermentino.
